We are delighted to announce our sponsorship deal with cycling underdogs Team HUUB-Wattbike. We can’t wait to support them through the 2019 season and watch them continue on their hard-fought journey to success.
Team HUUB-Wattbike are an independent British UCI track team. The Derby-based team have one of the most incredible underdog stories in recent cycling times. After an unmatched debut at the 2017 HSBC UK National Track Cycling Championships with three gold medals and a competition record, the four decided to form their own independent trade team. HUUB-Wattbike train intensively at the Derby velodrome and unlike other teams they have been hands on in every aspect of their progression.
From their physio to their strategy, the HUUB-Wattbike team have been truly independent. They have gone from strength to strength, winning multiple gold medals in the Tissot UCI Track World Cup, four Commonwealth Games medals, as well as over ten national titles on the track. Keen to progress further, HUUB-Wattbike now have their eyes set on the 2019/20 track season, including the UEC European track championships, UCI World track championships, Tissot UCI Track World Cup and an attempt on the 4km individual pursuit, 4km team pursuit and hour world records in Mexico.
PHYSIOLAB have been following HUUB-Wattbike since their early stages. Eventually, we reached out to them in order to support their progression. Our aim is to ensure that HUUB-Wattbike are performing optimally at all times. The team now have regular access to a PHYSIOLAB S1 unit, which is helping them to recover effectively between training and competition. It will also support the management of any acute injuries, such as Jonny’s ongoing ACL injury. We hope that with our support, HUUB-Wattbike will be able to progress even further and continue to take the world of cycling by storm.
